About Us
The first Safety Group was formed in 1957, in Victoria, under the auspices of the then Department, of Labour and Industry. The Central Safety Group was formed in 1960.
The Central Safety Group is a non-profit organisation of safety co-ordinators, managers and supervisors from all types and sized industries. Most members work within central Melbourne and surrounding districts and have a common interest in improving all aspects of occupational health and safety within their organisations.
The Aims of the Central Safety Group are to:
- Promote and advance OHS
- Encourage the development of safe working practices
- Provide a forum for OHS practitioners in both employer and union organisations
- Be a resource for information and training programs for members
- Encourage an ongoing safety awareness program through authoritative and specialist guest speakers for members and their companies
